The internet has changed everything, hasn’t it? The invention of the printing press brought a revolution in communication. Then came telegraph, cinema, radio, television. Each one bringing its own influence and inflection. But what the internet and the machines that give us access to it – the personal computer and the smartphone – have done, is unprecedented and hard to believe. Yet, here it is.
And we right in the middle of this whole new interactive, constantly on, ever changing world.
Access to the net gets simpler every day. The need to remain pertinent, relevant, and make a place in your audience’s mind grows all the time. You set up websites, Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, Instagram; you market online; you start e-businesses; you manage a space we are just getting to know. Meanwhile, all the other traditional communication channels also remain open and active.
Words and more words abound.
We are astonished by the amount of writing out there. Some of it is wonderful and engaging, but a lot isn’t. There could be several reasons for that, including the fact that so many different kinds of writing have never really been needed before. Or maybe because the very power of words, of language, isn’t top of mind often.
We are writers. We have written professionally for years; but more than being a profession, writing is what we love to do. We understand it, we appreciate the impact it has. To us it is never content, it is a piece of writing. Even if it’s a coupon. Because we know every bit of writing is important in its own way. It helps portray your personality, tell your story, make a place for you in your target’s mind.
it’s quite simple really. If you believe what’s written in the name of your business should have a stamp of who you are, what you stand for, what you offer; and if you believe in the long run, the way you say a thing will matter and add value, even if imperceptibly, then you will know writing has to be more than just words.
If you’re looking for such writing, we’re right here.
