A treat fit for Nawabs

By Indrani Robbins · On July 24, 2015

The erstwhile rulers of India, like the Nawabs, or the Nabobs if you like, were terribly into good food. One needn’t check the history books to verify this, a taste of a Biriyani or an Aloo Dum or the well known Dal Makhani will do. The Peacock Garden at The Gateway Hotel in Bangalore, part of Taj Hotels, had a great Mughlai spread on offer, the lunch buffet priced very reasonably. I was working at McCann-Erickson at the time, and of course since “immersion” in the brand was most necessary, several lunches were devoured by writer and other members of the team on The Gateway account.

That’s Classic

"... and at once it struck me what quality went to form a Man of Achievement, especially in Literature, and which Shakespeare possessed so enormously — I mean Negative Capability, that is, when a man is capable of being in uncertainties, Mysteries, doubts, without any irritable reaching after fact and reason."

John Keats
